Westword’s Michael Roberts points out the color-coded hierarchy of passes in effect in the Pepsi Center, but overlooks some key details. The dark purple “honored guest” hall passes aren’t mere honorifics — they get the holder into the upper tiers of the hall via different entrances, and also give access to the club-level boxes. Those with orange “arena” passes can only glimpse inside the interior of the room from the concourses, while the lowly few with undistinguished grayish-brown “perimeter” passes are cast out to stalk the burning, non-air-conditioned grounds between the ring of rusted steel and the arena itself.
Us (pictured above in the blog nexus)? We’re like the rainbow coalition, dog. Cadging and begging all manner of access from all manner of helpful associates, what.
